My kids called me at work when they got home from school and asked why the carpet in the basement was wet.

Never a good sign and it had me concerned right away, I told them to keep themselves and the dog out of the basement and I would check it out when I got home after work.

It hadn’t been raining, so some type of flooding seemed very unlikely and I immediately started thinking about the 30 year old sewer lines and worrying that there was some sort of sewer backup.

When I got home, I went directly to the basement to investigate the problem. Sure enough the floor drain had signs of water around it and the carpet outside the laundry room was damp and it didn’t smell good. It really wasn’t something that I wanted to deal with right now.

I had the kids flush a toilet and there were some gurgling sounds from the floor drain which didn’t sound good at all.

My neighbours had a similar problem a while back and I remembered the service van out on the street, I remembered something about sewer hero, but I called my neighbour and she told me right away. “Joey was great to deal with and had fixed the problem quickly.”

Obviously, he had the right tools, he was able to very quickly determine that there was some type of blockage in the main sewer line that had caused the sewer backup.

It ended up taking around an hour or so, for him to retrieve a blockage, clear the line and give me a report on the condition of the sewer line.

I immediately felt relieved to have the plumbing repaired and to know there wouldn’t be further problems. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Joey at Sewerheroes, he provides a great service at a reasonable price and was just an all around great guy.
